Knox Abbotsleigh Youth Orchestra (KAYO)
Membership of the Knox Abbotsleigh Youth Orchestra (KAYO), as with the more advanced ensembles, is by audition or invitation. The desired minimum playing standard is AMEB Grade V and VI or equivalent. Notice of auditions is given when sufficient vacancies occur and sight-reading, scales and two short contrasting items, all unaccompanied, will be heard.
A joining fee of $50.00 is required along with a commitment to attend rehearsals every Thursday during the School year between 4.00-5.30pm. Following many wins in national and City of Sydney Eisteddfods and much acclaim for its overseas tours, KAYO continues to build its standard and reputation for performance behaviour and presentation.
