Scheduling Lessons
Lesson times are allocated in the fairest possible manner on a rotating timetable (rota) to ensure lessons are given at a different half-hour each week, on the same day.  Boys leave class for lessons scheduled after the start of School. To minimise class clashes, lessons are also scheduled before school and across recess and lunch. Senior boys or those learning more than one instrument may be considered for fixed lesson times. These are only given with the consent of the Head of Music.

Fees
Fees of $520 for each semester of 16 lessons are payable two terms in advance. If the teacher is a visitor to Knox, please expect the account via your son by Lesson 2 and fees are then payable directly to them.  Please note there may be some variation to the fees to cover each individual teacher's situation with GST.  Prompt settlement is appreciated and will avoid termination of tuition.  Please make cheques payable to the teacher, as detailed on their account.

Missed Lessons
Those missed through teacher absence will be credited or made up. Lessons missed by students will be forfeited unless prior notice in writing is received by the teacher.  It is up to your son to notify teachers of any clashes with excursions, examinations or camps, so lesson times can be swapped.

Illness
In the case of illness, parents must phone the teacher the day or evening prior.  Teachers' contact numbers will be found on timetables and in Music Record Books.  Only in the case of sudden unavailability (or if your lesson teacher happens to be a member of Knox teaching staff) should you advise the Music Office on 9487 0129.

Termination of Tuition
Notice in writing to the Headmaster is required four weeks before the end of semester to discontinue lessons. Otherwise, the next semester's fees will be charged.
