| Careers in Accounting and Finance Senior boys interested in this area are urged to register at the institute of chartered accountants website www.icaa.org.au/entry . They will then receive regular updates for cadetships, scholarships and career opportunities in this dynamic field.
Apprenticeships & Traineeships In times of skill shortages, apprenticeships and traineeships provide opportunities to gain valuable work skills, experience and a nationally recognised qualification. Full details are available from www.skilling.nsw.gov.au
Knox career mentors Over 60 members of the Knox community have offered their services as career mentors for senior Knox students. The mentors cover a very wide range of occupations and provide an outstanding opportunity for boys to receive in-depth specialised counselling on a one to one basis. Just in case! SIBT provides an alternative pathway to Macquarie University for students who do not receive the UAI for the course of their choice. Subject to reaching a satisfactory standard in the first year of the program, students are guaranteed pathway to 2nd year of a Bachelor degree. Career management is the key to employment The days when employees could rely on employers and unions to look after them are over. People have to take more responsibility for their careers in a tougher working environment. The key is to set short term goals, update skills and remain flexible to opportunities.

New TAFE NSW website The new school to TAFE website http://www.tafensw.edu.au/schooltotafe is an excellent resource for students and offers comprehensive information for high school students exploring their career options and pathways.

University rankings and ratings information New software information is now available in the Careers Office, rating and ranking providers of courses based on multiple student relevant criteria: entry difficulty, getting a job, graduate satisfaction with study experience etc.
Once students have explored and narrowed down their career and further education options using our Career Voyage and OZJAC software packages, the ratings and rankings programs will provide extra information about which institution best suits their needs.
Email a uni student If you want to know what its really like to study at Sydney University, then who better to ask than a current Sydney University student? A list of students and their email addresses is available from the Careers Office. Students from all faculties have agreed to act as student mentors, to give information about a particular degree, enrolment decisions or just university life in general.

Study and play sport in USA Senior students interested in playing sport whilst studying in the USA are invited to contact AUSIEC on (02) 9386 1414 to find out further details including entry requirements.
Assistance with careers' guidance A reminder that Knox has available the Career Voyage and OZ-JAC software packages which are capable of assisting senior boys in determination and clarification of appropriate career objectives. The three-stage program is free and is offered at various times during the school day to boys in Years 11 and 12. Prior booking is necessary and may be made with Tony Higgins in the Careers Office.
