Program Aims | Program Placement | Course Acceleration
Students who gain scholarships at Knox each year are automatically offered a place within the da Vinci Program.
The School offers a wide range of da Vinci courses every year and runs courses based on levels of student demand. The da Vinci Program is open to all students to apply for entry at nominated times in Years 7 to 12 and students are selected by a panel of staff. The benchmark for placement is whether the student is best placed in the program and if so, then he is in.
Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their suitability via application (reports, testing, portfolio, profile), teacher nomination, testing (such as scholarship examination, placement testing and assessment) and interview.
For placement in Year 7, positions in classes are allocated to:
- Scholarship students.
- Students with a confirmed place at Knox in Year 7 who satisfy the benchmark criterion.
- Students on the waiting list who satisfy the benchmark criterion above - the number of places available to students on the waiting list is determined according to the number of places available in classes after places have been awarded to the two groups above.
In Years 9 to 12, a similar application process is followed for students who are already at the School.
