Senior : Knox Parents' Association : Volunteering

There are many ways to volunteer to help at Knox, where the efforts of parents and friends are welcomed and valued.  In fact, volunteering contributes to the programs and activities the School is able to offer to our boys. If you're interested in getting involved, get in touch with the relevant person listed below. Staff members can be contacted through the School switchboard (02) 9487 0122 and contact details for parents listed as convenors can be obtained from Mrs Julie Lines in the Community Relations Office on (02) 9487 0449.

KPA Meetings
Friendly, informal and open to everyone to attend and contribute. Usually held on the fourth Tuesday evening of every month in the Paterson Centre and notified in The Knoxonian. John Weeks, Bob Thomas and a member of the School Council give reports and answer questions.

Fund Raising
All KPA funds are donated to school projects selected in consultation with the Headmaster and staff. We have a significant impact on the quality of life for our boys and would welcome your help whenever you can. With At Home held in the first week of Term 1 to kick off the new School year, other events include Gala Day to open the football season in May and Garden Day in September.

Functions
Whatever the function, you are encouraged to  participate - you will meet other wonderful people and the results of your efforts will enhance your son's time at Knox.

Secretary - Jann Deveridge
President - Jeof Falls kpa@knox.nsw.edu.au

Craft Group This group convenes early in the year, usually at Curagul, to make a start on craft items to be sold at Garden Day. There are plenty of activities for people who sew and those who don't - ironers, paper cutters, embroiderers, knitters and tea makers are all needed!  All parents, grandparents and friends are welcome - bring a sandwich if you plan to stay for lunch. Those who can't get to craft days are welcome to be a part of the group by making items at home.  Julie Lines in Community Relations (02) 9487 0449.
Tuckshop Managed by the School's caterer, Sodexho, the tuckshop is staffed by volunteer parents and is always looking for more helpers. Special days, notified in The Knoxonian, are scheduled for fathers to man the counters. Opportunities are also available on weekends, staffing the rugby and football canteens at home games in winter.
