Papua New Guinea - June/July 09

Knox Grammar School Milne Bay Trip 30 June-9 July

Updates:

Thursday 9 July, 12.53pm: PNG tourists have arrived safely in Brisbane (11.45am) and are on their way to Sydney.

Both updates (5 and 8 July) received to post 8 July, 3.35pm:
Wednesday 8 July: A day with the Uniting Church in Port Moresby. Visiting a village, the University, a sitting of parliament, the war memorial cemetery. All well, fly home tomorrow.

Sunday 5 July: Pig purchased and gifts ready for village feast tonight. Boys playing local soccer and volleyball now after climbing up mountains today. All well but tired. Boys will lead the church service tomorrow. A wonderful group of boys.

Friday 3 July am: The boys were impressed with the friendliness and gentleness of the people. They received a tremendous welcome at the village with warrior dancers and leis and singing. The boys were very excited. The whole village turned out today. The boys are assembling desks. It is a hive of activity and the boys are very proud of the work they are doing. The boys are staying at ‘good stay house’ tonight. The boys are absolutely fabulous in their participation and enthusiasm.
