The following Senior School Colours are issued as awards to students who have done well in sports:

Silver Thistle Award
This is the highest colour and generally goes to students in Years 11 or 12 who demonstrate sustained excellence and uphold the traditions of the School. The full thistle is in silver thread with the wording, also in silver, of the name of the sport and the year of award. |

White Thistle Award
For students in Years 11 or 12 whose performances are reaching towards the Silver Thistle level. It is also for students in Years 9 or 10 who demonstrate quite exceptional performance and uphold the traditions of the School. The outline thistle is in white cotton with the wording and date written in white cotton, as for the Silver Colour. |

Blue Thistle Award
This is primarily for Year 12 students who are worthy of recognition for training and performance or by their service over a substantial period of time. It is also for students in Years 9 or 10 who have demonstrated outstanding performances, show great promise for the future and are worthy of encouragement. The outline thistle is in blue cotton, with the wording and date written in blue cotton, as for the Silver Colour. |
Awards are assessed by the Colours Committee chaired by Head of teh Knox Institute of Sport who oversees, vets and approves the awarding of all School Colours. Conditions of eligibility differ slightly for each activity and all awards are subject to considerations of dedication and appropriate conduct. NO AWARDS ARE AUTOMATIC.
