Senior : Sport : Participation
Participation in the Knox sports program is compulsory and is divided into the summer season (Terms 1 and 4) and the winter season (Terms 2 and 3). This will normally consist of two afternoons of training per week and a Saturday game. Knox sport commitments take priority over other outside interests.
In Year 7, a student's summer sport will only be for Term 1, after which time he may opt to change his sport for the following summer season. Changes are not permitted during the season once numbers and teams have been set, except for medical reasons, so students need to choose carefully and discuss their choices with their parents.

Compulsory House Sports Every boy is assigned to one of the 12 School Houses: Adamson, Angus, Bryden, Gillespie, MacNeil, McIlrath, McKenzie, Montgomery, Murdoch, Reid, Sinclair and Turnbull. There are three compulsory House sports events: Swimming Standards, the six event Track and Field and Cross Country. All students and staff attend these events.
Swimming Standards in Term 1: Students must swim events as specified such as 50m Freestyle. Each student is timed and points are allocated according to "standards" appropriate to students of his Year group. Six event Track and Field in Term 1 is operated along similar lines to the swimming standards. The six events are 100m, 400m, 800m, hurdles, javelin and shot put. The Cross Country championships in Term 2 are held at St Ives Showground. A course is mapped around the surroundings and every student partakes.
