The Knox Shop 9 Woodville Avenue, Wahroonga
(Next to the Administration Centre)
(02) 9487 0191 Opening hours during term time:
Tuesday to Friday
12.30 - 5.30pm

The Knox Shop stocks both new and good condition second hand uniform items. The entire official range of the Knox uniform is available here, including ALL items required for Cadets, right down to the tent pegs and rope. In addition, The Knox Shop stocks crested merchandise items that can add to your comfort both at home or on the side of the sporting arena. All profit from the sale of all clothes, new and second-hand, goes to the School.

During holidays, special days of opening are advertised in The Knoxonian. For the price list (as of 22/11/07), click here.

Payment
Boarders may put their purchases on their account and are well looked after by the volunteer mothers who realise the difficulties boarders have when parents are far away. Special care is taken when outfitting boarders.

Dayboys can pay by cash or cheque and parents can arrange a pre-approved payment facility by credit card (Bankcard, Mastercard, Amex or Visa Card) for their sons to make purchases. If an article of clothing is urgently needed and money has been forgotten, it may be put on "hold", to be picked up another day when the money is brought. Please contact the shop for details.

Staffing
Volunteer Knox mothers staff the Knox Shop, with Idris Chandler from Sodexho (the School's services provider) as the manager. A new roster is compiled at the beginning of each year but new volunteers are needed regularly. Mothers may volunteer on whatever basis suits them - weekly, fortnightly, or monthly and hours of work are flexible.

Second-Hand Items
When clothes are left at the clothing shop to be sold there is a small number of points which must be noted:

  • To comply with the accepted School dress code, clothing left for sale must be in good order. Please understand that should the Knox Shop consider any item unsaleable, it will be given to charity. Parents are not normally notified.
  • All clothes must be in good order (no stains or holes) and clean, either freshly laundered or dry-cleaned.
  • The mothers do all pricing of items and payment is made at the end of the six-month period in which it is sold. The seller receives 60% of the realised price and the Knox Shop retains 40%.
  • Items not sold after 18 months are given to charity - parents are not normally notified.
  • When purchasing a second-hand item from the Knox Shop, please be aware there are NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS.
