Senior : Uniform : Sport
Clothing for sport should be purchased only as it becomes necessary although it is recommended a Knox tracksuit and black Lycra swimming costume be purchased before the start of the year, as swimming trials are held in the first week of Term 1.
Gymnasium Uniform
Compulsory for all year groups, the uniform for activity classes is black quick-dry shorts with the Knox logo, grey PE t-shirt, white sports socks (plain or with a blue and black striped top) and non-marking gym shoes.
Appearance
Students must be properly dressed to participate in sports activities and classes:
- Each individual sport has its own uniform, as outlined below. Students are required to wear it in its complete and unaltered state. The Firsts' teams for most sports have a separate and distinctive uniform or items, in recognition of the students' accomplishment in making the top team.
- Students playing sport or participating in classes outdoors are strongly advised to wear headgear. The official Knox cap, cricket cap, hat etc are the only options.
- The Knox tracksuit is worn in cold weather over regular sports uniform.
- Students should wear correct uniform to Saturday games. Spectators, weight trainers and all others should wear School uniform or Knox tracksuit pants with PE T-shirt.
- Boys are to leave school after sports training in either full school uniform or full school tracksuit.
Individual Sports
| Basketball |

Non-marking soled shoes, sport socks, Knox basketball shorts (black with blue stripes down the side) and reversible, numbered training singlet (available for purchase at the Knox Shop). A numbered Knox singlet will be provided to players for inter-school games, for which a levy of $20 is charged to each student's school account. This shirt remains the property of Knox and is to be returned at the end of each game. It is not to be taken home. Students whose playing shirt is not accounted for at the end of the seasaon will be charged an additional $20 replacement fee.
In cold weather, a Knox tracksuit can be worn over regular uniform with a white collared Knox sports' shirt. |
| Cricket |
|
White shoes or cricket boots with white socks, long white pants, white collared Knox sports' shirt, Knox cap or white hat, Knox cricket vest. |
| Cross Country |
|
White collared Knox sports' shirt, black quick-dry shorts with the Knox logo, good running shoes sutiable for distance running. Knox athletics shorts and singlet, with competitor number sewn on. Knox tracksuit and gym shoes when required. |
| Football |
|
White collared Knox sports' shirt, black quick-dry shorts with the Knox logo, Knox football socks, Knox tracksuit and gym-shoes when required. |
| House Sports |
|
Students must wear a House t-shirt in the correct colour of the House, obtainable at the Knox Shop. They must not have any badges or insignia etc. other than the House logo. |
| Orienteering |
|
Knox track suit when travelling to and from events; own running gear while competing. |
| Rugby |
|
Rugby boots, Knox rugby socks (black with blue top), black rugby shorts, Knox jersey (short or long sleeved), Knox tracksuit and gym shoes when required. |
| Sailing |
|
Long-sleeved white Knox sailing shirt, navy Knox sailing shorts and cap. |
| Squash |
|
White collared Knox sports' shirt, black quick-dry shorts with the Knox logo, white socks, sports shoes. |
| Surf Life Saving |
|
Given the assocaition with Whale Beach Surf CLub, for which Knox surf life savers patrol, students wear the bright yellow, turquise and grey uniform of WBSLC with items including Speedo's, shorts, collared shirt and hat. |
| Swimming |
|
Only black Speedo-type costumes can be worn (no board shorts). A towel is required and goggles must always be worn in the pool and these can be purchased at the Knox Shop. |
| Tennis |
|
White collared Knox sports' shirt, black quick-dry shorts with the Knox logo, white socks, sports shoes. |
| Track & Field |
|
White collared Knox sports' shirt, Knox athletic shorts, singlet and warm-up top, running shoes with interchangeable spikes. Knox tracksuit and gym shoes with white socks when required. |
