CAPITAL CAMPAIGN – HONOURING OUR PAST, BUILDING THE FUTURE
from Peter Roach, Campaign Chairman
Over the past five years, Knox Grammar School has upgraded its facilities in significant ways. Major improvements have included the K-2 Centre on the Preparatory School campus, and more recently, the KG1 Building and Knox 1 Oval redevelopment on the Senior School campus.

The new Boarding Centre is currently under construction, with an anticipated completion date in April, 2010. Within this world class facility, 21st century boarding will provide "whole of life" programs to enrich the lives of the coming generations of boarders, equipping them to make a real difference to the world they encounter outside the school. |

I am delighted that the School Council has now given approval for the Great Hall and Aquatic Centre project to proceed, later this year.
With a definitive timetable, design and cost now finalised, this ambitious project will now form the focus of the reinvigorated Capital Campaign, continuing the theme "Honouring our Past, Building the Future".
Situated alongside the Lawson Centre, and adjacent to the new Boarding Precinct, the Great Hall transforms the Woodville Avenue entrance to the school, effectively creating a - grand boulevard” into the Senior School campus. |

These Floor Plans really demonstrate just how creatively the Great Hall / Aquatic Centre building has been designed. Different, multi-functional levels provide an Assembly Hall that will seat up to 2200 people, three Olympic size indoor basketball courts, a performance centre for major productions, as well as an indoor 50 metre swimming pool and enhanced weights room / gymnasium.

The foyer of the Great Hall will incorporate an Art Gallery which will house the significant art collection featuring modern Australian artists generously donated by Dr Nic Jools (OKG 1959), a physical embodiment of Honouring the Past – Building the Future. |

Knox Grammar School began with, and has flourished with, the vision and generosity of benefactors. The School’s tradition of support is ever present, in the John Williams Hall, the Chapel, the Paterson Centre, and more recently, the Knox 1 project and boarding facility. In assisting great boys to grow into great men of integrity, wisdom, faith and compassion, 21st century Knox faces the constant challenge of remaining relevant and progressive educationally and physically.
The Capital Campaign - Honouring our Past – Building the future” aims to meet that challenge and ensure that Knox stays at the forefront of quality schooling in Australia.
