Great results for Prep Cross Country runners

01-May-2013

Late in Term 1 the Knox Cross Country team had some great success at the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival at The Kings School.

William Constable won the 9 years 2,000m race, followed by Matthew Pearson in fifth and Spencer Selikowitz in eight.

This great start was followed by Sam Rockliff  who won convincingly in the 10yrs; followed by Charlie Hennessey in sixth and James Stark in fifteenth place.

Our 11 and 12 year runners had the tough task of a 3km track, which really challenged the boys physically and mentally with the competition as fierce as the younger age groups. James Constable ran the race of his life with his main opposition from St Aloysius. These boys battled it right through to the finish line sprinting the last 100m to the gates. James was just pipped on the line to achieve second place. Not too far behind was Henry Roberts in 12th place.

Our 12 year runners continued our dominance with Austin Thomson placing sixth, Mitchell Roberts seventh, Thomas Constable eighth  and Nik Kaderavek eighteen.

As a result of all boys who competed on the day, Knox were champions in the 9 years, 10 years and 12 years team events.
