Knox teachers, Dale Thompson and Andrew Jeppesen take a few minutes rest on a recent training run for the Oxfam Trailwalker.
The Knox Community has got behind its team in this weekend’s Oxfam Trailwalker. Knox teachers and Berowra residents, Andrew Jeppesen (Languages) and Dale Thompson (Learning Support) will team up as KNOXfam with Dale’s husband, Bruce Inglis and their daughter, Holly to run the 100km from Brooklyn to Balmoral through the bush in about 18 hours.
Not only does the team have the physical challenge of completing the 100km together; they are also raising funds to fight poverty and injustice through Oxfam projects.
KNOXfam (Team 175) has received support from all parts of the Knox Community. Year 11 boys ran a collection as students entered the school last week, staff conducted a very successful Trivia Night and several Knox parents are acting as the support crew during the event.
To prepare for the event, the team has completed all sections of the trail as well as other endurance events such as the Six Foot Track and Kariong Rogaine.
