Knox Instructional Coaching Framework receives national recognition

23-May-2013

Knox Grammar’s Instructional Coaching Framework has been showcased by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) as an example of best practice. The program provides all Knox teachers with the opportunity to continually review and improve their teaching.

“Knox has developed a performance and development culture that supports teacher collaboration, encourages leadership, values feedback and research centred on peer observation and the use of recording lessons to develop high impact instructional practices to improve student outcomes,” said the Institute.

“Knox has used the Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework to underpin its whole-school REAP observation process. REAP (Reflection, Evaluation and Action Planning) is the platform for the ongoing cycle of professional learning that occurs for all teachers at the school.”

AITSL grant

AITSL has awarded Knox a $15,000 research grant for innovative performance, development and professional learning. The grant will support Knox's Instructional Coaching Framework, which could be replicated in schools across Australia.
