Knox Senior Student Academy

16-May-2013

Over the last decade Knox has embarked on an ambitious program to equip our students with world-class facilities including the Great Hall and Aquatic Centre, K-2 Centre, Ewan House, the KG1 Building and the Knox Boarding Centre.

The School Council and I are now delighted to announce that we will shortly commence the next chapter in our journey with the construction of the Knox Senior Student Academy.

The Academy, to be located adjacent to the Borambil Street gates at the Senior School campus, has been designed to meet the specific needs of Years 11 and 12 students as they transition from school to university.

While the Academy facade will celebrate and continue the School’s traditional architecture, inside the building our senior boys will find technology-rich classrooms and science labs, a 150-seat lecture theatre, breakout spaces for group learning and a Seniors Hall which will be used for teaching, exams, study and socialising. The Academy will truly honour our past and build for the future.

Initial preparatory work has now commenced. Construction is expected to start in the middle of the year, with the Academy due to open in early 2015.

Look out for more information about the Academy over the coming months as this exciting project takes shape!
