NSW Premier visits Knox

23-Aug-2013

Year 10 Commerce students from Knox this week enjoyed a visit by NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell.

Year 10 Commerce is studying the topic of ‘Politics’ and Premier O’Farrell generously gave up his time to answer questions from the boys on topics including renewable energy, the leadership of the Federal Coalition, the F3-M2 link, the need for a second airport for Sydney and how the state can contribute to global food production.

The Premier spoke about his journey to becoming premier and the importance of all Australians exercising their democratic right to vote.

“I would prefer that you didn’t vote for me than not vote at all,” said Premier O’Farrell.

Commerce is an elective subject for students in Year 9 and 10. Commerce introduces students to the senior (Year 11 and 12) subjects of Economics, Business Studies and Legal Studies.
