The Bandaged Bear Appeal

02-May-2011

The Bandaged Bear Appeal at the Prep School this year was again a great success, and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead very gratefully received our contribution. The boys and the School community raised $4021, money that we know will be well spent. Funds raised by The Bandaged Bear Appeal help care for sick kids needing a range of medical treatments. Donations are allocated to areas of the greatest need within the Hospital, including research into childhood diseases, the purchase of vital equipment and the provision of patient services. Community support contributes significantly to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead being a world-class centre of healing for sick children and their families.

A big THANK YOU to the staff who helped in counting money or in various other ways. The preparation of class packs, the day itself, and the post Bandaged Bear Day wrap up ran seamlessly, all of which contributed to the success of the event. Also a big THANK YOU to the boys of 6R who gave up their time to sort packs and sell merchandise over numerous lunchtimes, and of course the boys of the Prep who gave of their hard earned pocket money to buy plenty of bears and hacky sacks.
