The Nic Jools Collection

21-Nov-2011

The story of Nic Jools AM OKG'59 is a story of courage and commitment, both personally and professionally.

It is the story of a love of life and a love of art.

It is a story of giving, as evidenced by the awarding, in the 2010 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, of membership in the Order of Australia ‘for service to the community through philanthropic donations of Australian art and financial support for a range of educational and medical organisations, as benefactor to developing artists and to medicine in the field of gynaecology’.

All this coalesces in the wonderful donation of his significant collection of Australian art to Knox Grammar School, the school to which Nic felt such gratitude.

To celebrate this donation, which will undoubtedly inspire students and benefit the wider community for years to come, the School has published the 'Nic Jools Collection', a beautifully produced book telling the story of an inspiring individual and providing a delightful journey through Australian art, including works by Sidney Nolan, Arthur Boyd, Margaret Olley, Jeffrey Smart, Charles Blackman, Fred Williams, Brett Whitely, John Brack, Gary Shead and Judy Cassab.

Knox is proud to offer this book to the Knox community at a very special price of $50.00 - RRP is $75.00.
