HEADMASTER’S COLUMN Mr John Weeks

Compassion… one of Knox’s key pillars Boys at Knox are regularly reminded of the four core pillars upon which the School stands. Integrity, compassion, wisdom and faith stand out like bright lights, reminding and challenging all of us to clothe ourselves within these core values. Compassion, that caring for others is built upon the golden rule of ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ or ‘love your neighbour as yourself’. » Read More

PREP SCHOOL NEWS

FROM THE HEAD OF THE PREPARATORY SCHOOLMr Mark Hemphill

Take your sons for a walk
Last Friday I had the pleasure of walking across from the Prep School to the Chapel with the K-2 boys. The walk across was quite an experience. The boys were engrossed in collecting snails, leaves, spider webs, pieces of wood and anything even slightly interesting. It was so refreshing to see the world through the boys’ eyes because as adults we are always in such a rush to get where we are going that we don’t take the time to marvel at the amazing world of nature. » Read More

Cross Country

Congratulations to all of the boys who competed in the Cross Country last Friday. The boys all tried their very hardest and some great races were run. Thanks to the many parents who braved the wet conditions and supported all of the boys. This was another very successful Prep event. Well done to all of the boys who have now qualified for the IPSHA Carnival at Kings on 6 April. A huge thank you to Mrs Dewar for her excellent organisation of the event.

Mrs Julie Wiseman, Director of Staffing K-6/K-2 Coordinator

As part of their Integrated Science and HSIE study on ‘Wet and Dry Environments’ Year 2 boys have been investigating natural wonders such as the Great Barrier Reef. Last Monday an incursion was organised and Year 2 boys walked to the Senior School to take part in an interactive video conference entitled ‘Introduction to the Great Barrier Reef’. With the use of technology our Year 2 boys were taken on a 30 minute underwater adventure with a diver within the living Coral Reef exhibit. » Read More
