The spirited crowd was certainly as excited as the boys with ‘applause a-plenty’ as SWE took the stage.
Performing the four works required for an ‘A GRADE’ Australian National Championship, SWE presented Ave Maria- Schubert (HYMN), Liturgical Dances – Holsinger (TEST PIECE), Tin Tin: Prisoner of the Sun- Brosse/ De-Meij (OWN CHOICE MAJOR WORK) and Army of the Nile (STAGE MARCH) to complete their 45 minute program.
At the conclusion of the performance, there were tears of joy and much celebration from audience and musicians alike, as our ‘One in ten year SWE’ stood to take their final bow.
Luckily enough for all, this concert was recorded…………. Stay tuned for this!
It is hard to believe, but yes, our Knox Symphonic Wind Ensemble (SWE) are now into their final few weeks prior to their departure to the Australian National Band Championships. The boys will depart on Friday 22 April, with the Championship taking place on Easter Sunday 24 April.
Best wishes boys!
