2016 Australian National Band Championships

While many of us were relaxing over the Easter break, the boys in the Knox Symphonic Wind Ensemble were in Adelaide competing in the 2016 Australian National Band and Solo Championships.

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble comprising of 64 boys, won the Premium Junior A Grade Competition and received the highest praise from the NZ Chief Adjudicator, Mr Dwayne Bloomfield. The ensemble’s own work piece ‘Angels in the Architecture’ received the outstanding score of 192/200.

Twelve Knox individual performers and ensembles won their divisions, with our quartets taking out 1st to 5th places in the Junior Quartets competition.

Five Knox soloists were invited to perform in the prestigious Champions Of Champions competition recitals.
