Knox Boarder wins silver in Australian Geographic photo prize

Knox Boarder Wesley Read (Narrabri) has won a national photography award for his close-up photograph of a Rainbow Lorikeet.

Wesley, who is in Year 10 at Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga, won silver in the Australian Geographic ANZANG Junior Nature Photographer of the Year.

Wesley flew to Adelaide in August to attend the award ceremony at the South Australian Museum.

“On the morning this was taken it had been raining and several pairs were taking shelter on my grandparent’s veranda, where they occasionally feed the birds,” said Wesley. “This allowed me to sneak up on them and get my shot."
