A group of almost 1,000 Knox students, parents and supporters provided an electric atmosphere for the Combined Associated Schools (CAS) Swimming and Diving
Champions at Homebush on Thursday evening.
Students from Knox Grammar School broke five CAS records and finished second overall in both swimming and diving.
Thirty-two swimmers and eight divers represented Knox at the meet, with four individual records and one relay record broken by the Knox team.
Justin Lee (Year 8) broke three records in the 14 years: 50 metre Freestyle (25.18 seconds), 100 metre Freestyle (55.23 seconds) and the 50 metre Butterfly
Knox Swim Captain Vincent Dai (Year 12) broke the record for the Open 50 metres Freestyle with a time of 23.06 seconds.
The Knox 14 years 200 metre Freestyle relay team of Sydney Robertson, Lachlan Kelly, Justin Lee and Benjamin Bradshaw broke the record with a time of 1
minute 46.82 seconds.
“It was a tremendous night with Knox relay teams winning eight out of the twelve relays,” said the Head of the Knox Sports Academy, Chuck Ardron. “The
atmosphere at the Olympic Park Aquatic Centre was electric with thousands of Sydney students cheering on their peers.”
Knox won 31 of the 73 events. The overall winner of the points competition was Trinity Grammar (547 points), with Knox finishing second (545) followed
by Barker (441).
