More than 1,000 Senior School students and teachers from Knox participated in a special ‘yellow’ assembly on Tuesday to raise awareness for RU OK?
Day, an initiative which aims to prevent suicide.
Suicide is a major cause of death for young people, with young men particularly at risk.
The students wore items of yellow and made a gold coin donation to fundraise for the charity.
The event was organised by Year 11 student Sam Clarke, who is a Youth Ambassador for RU OK?.
RU OK? Co-founder Janina Nearn and Headmaster John Weeks spoke at the assembly about the importance of having real, meaningful conversations about mental health and suicide with friends and family members.
