It is now the last week for 2016 and I would just like to thank all the students and the staff for the hard work and commitment they have shown to their sport this year.

We have had some outstanding results both within teams and individually. But most importantly it has been what our students have shown they are capable of. They have worked hard to ensure that they have been where they have needed to be they have been in the correct attire and they have supported their fellow students in all their activities throughout the year in the best way possible.

I encourage all students to take advantage of the opportunities in the holidays to prepare for 2017.

I wish those students involved in tours - Basketball, Waterpolo and Cricket all the best and know that as always they will represent the school in the best possible way. I hope they enjoy their sport and have fun in these fantastic opportunities provided by the school.

I congratulate Matthew Dall’Asen on another fantastic year of Fencing where he has once again become state champion, medalled at Nationals and represented Australia whilst travelling the world. I wish our two national gymnastics students Angus Laurie and Ben Dempsey all the best for their trip to the USA in January and I am sure they will do well and enjoy the experience.

This week we have some boys competing at the Australian Schools Knock Out championships for Track and Field and I know they will do their best and get as much as they can from the experience. The Swimming State Championships are coming up shortly and after our swim clubs’ best ever performance at the Metropolitan championships I wish them all the best. There is so much on offer at this school for all students.

It has been my pleasure to have been the Head of Knox Sport for these past years. I thank the Headmaster for the opportunity and I thank the boys for the support and commitment they have shown to the Sports program and I know this will continue next year. Although I have a new role, I look forward to continuing to watch the boys as they grow and develop into fine young men of which Knox can be proud.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Go the Black and the Blue!
