For 100 years, Anzac Day has formed a significant part of Knox’s heritage. Each year, the School honours those who served and those who lost their lives in battle, particularly our fallen Old Boys, at the annual Anzac Memorial for the Old Knox Grammarians' Association and the Ceremonial Parade of the Knox Grammar Cadet Unit. Yesterday's clear and sunny conditions were a fitting backdrop for the poignant centenary event.
Reviewing Officer, Major General The Hon Paul Brereton AM RFD SC (OKG75), delivered the address and took the salute at the march past of the Cadet Unit. In his address, Major General Brereton acknowledged the School's history of service and paid tribute to the Old Boys who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Wreaths were laid by Major General Brereton, OKGA President Rob Johnson (OKG78), Knox Headmaster Scott James, Ravenswood Principal Anne Johnstone, and the captains of both schools, and each of the 71 names on the Roll of Honour were read out.
We will remember them.
