Each boy researched and produced their own 'National Geographic' magazine based on a natural disaster of their choice. This included a section on scientific research, the impacts of the disaster (economic, social, environmental) and a critical analysis of what system is currently used to detect and warn communities at risk of this disaster.
The students were then tasked with the goal of following a 'design thinking' process to develop an improved prototype version of the detection/warning system using their new MicroBit kits. It's been an incredible learning experience for the boys and teachers.
