Our Cadets have returned from the Annual Field Exercise (AFX) Camp near Lithgow after a wonderful few days in the outdoors.
The camp was run over three nights due to the weather, with boys from Knox and girls from Ravenswood taking part in a modified program of activities and challenges including hiking, ropes courses and much more.
Cadets is an essential part of the experience of attending Knox; all Year 8 students participate in a year of Cadets from Term 4, with most students continuing beyond the compulsory first year. The Cadet program is co-educational, with students from Knox and Ravenswood School for Girls participating in activities together.
The Cadet Unit was established in 1929. Cadet Unit goes beyond the provisions of outdoor recreation, fun and leadership. It is a crucible in which the traditions and heritage of the Schools are distilled and perpetuated. Our Cadet program forms a distinctive and essential part of the character and ethos of the School in assisting to make each Knox boy a well-rounded person.
