
The stellar efforts of Year 12 2023 have come to fruition, with the cohort recording extraordinary results.
Knox Grammar School
Released on Thursday 14 December, Knox students achieved a median score of 93, one perfect ATAR score and two scores of 99.90.
2023 Dux Jacob Johnstone received the top ATAR – 99.95 – and Hanwei Chong and Christopher Goh attained 99.90 each.
Fifty-six students were listed as All-Round Achievers and 24 were placed on the Top Achievers List, and Knox ranked 11th in the Sydney Morning Herald's Top 150 Schools Report; 979 Total Band 6 results were recorded and 38 students achieved an ATAR of 99 or higher.
Headmaster Mr Scott James said: "The results achieved by the Class of 2023 reflect not only their intellectual capabilities but also their resilience and determination.
"The collaboration between staff, students, and parents has not only supported our most recent graduates during their senior years but has also contributed to the development of well-rounded individuals prepared for the next chapter of their lives.
"The actions of the year group have consistently reflected the School’s values, demonstrating the principles and ideals that they have collectively embraced throughout their time at Knox."

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Mr Marsden Carr Hordern’s OAM, VRD, DLitt (Hon) (OKG39) passing. Aged 103, Marsden passed away in Sydney on 17 October 2025. Marsden – student 329 – was Knox Grammar School’s oldest known living Old Boy.
