Knox Gala Day 2024 – Oh, What a Day!
Knox Grammar School
The centenary highlights performances and the exhibition rugby match between Knox Old Boys and Brothers IV Brothers capped off a beautiful sunny day full of community spirit, delicious food, excellent music and trials for the Track and Field team to contest the CAS Championships.
It was great to showcase the Track and Field team as the CAS Athletics season commences and we were delighted to welcome Olympian Cameron McEntyre (OKG16) to lead some students in a javelin throwing exhibition. The inaugural Headmaster’s Gift was held with the winner being Xavier (Year 10), and in the second running of the Deputy Headmaster’s Mile, Jim (Year 11) took line honours. Both these races were handicapped according to the athletes’ recent times. And the best of the best Prep athletes contested the Preparatory Headmaster’s Dash with Charlie (Year 6) being the winner.
A record number of Knox ensembles, choirs, bands and orchestras kept the Boulevard buzzing, with performances from Knox students of all ages.
The Old Knox Grammarians’ Association’s Classic Car Display was a highlight, with incredible historic automobiles on show. The amusement rides were ever popular with the young…and not-so-young, as well as all stalls manned by our wonderful Knox community.
Knox Grammar would like to thank the KPA Committee, Year Group Convenors, parents, staff and Old Boys for their efforts in making it a successful day and raising funds for the Knox Parents’ Association. All funds raised at Gala Day are used to fund additional resources for the students.

“We were motivated to invent a tool that would help the community and society, by making an application not just for us students,” said Daniel (Year 11). “From what I’ve observed, our Student Administration Officer takes a lot of phone calls about student absence, and she could have more time to be focused on more meaningful tasks.”
