Discussions about nuclear energy, sustainability and other global issues were on the table.
Kierin Chung (Y11), Nicholas Chung (Y8), Harry Tong (Y9), Harry McRae (Y8), Mohammad Abdulghani (Y8), Rainier Liu (Y9), William Macdonald (Y8) and Trevor Tsang (Y8) were able to showcase their debating skills and diplomacy – months of preparation finally paying off with many resolutions and amendments passed in the three days of the conference.
MUN Coordinator Alex von Wietersheim said the boys earned selection through their dedication to the club and their active participation in debates this year.
"All of the boys did really well, especially considering that it was the first conference for many of them," Ms von Wietersheim said.
"Special mention goes to Harry Tong, who received the awards for Best Delegate and Most Diplomatic in his committee, and Harry McRae who received a commendation for his excellent work as the Delegate of Kyrgyzstan."
In their spare time the boys were able to experience the vibrant culture of Singapore.
"From savouring local cuisine to learning about sustainability in the city-state, we are certain that the students thoroughly enjoyed this trip and have learnt quite a bit about international diplomacy."

“We were motivated to invent a tool that would help the community and society, by making an application not just for us students,” said Daniel (Year 11). “From what I’ve observed, our Student Administration Officer takes a lot of phone calls about student absence, and she could have more time to be focused on more meaningful tasks.”
