Our Prep robot wranglers have taken out second place at the first competition of the season, held in Tamworth last weekend.
Knox Grammar School
The boys' efforts in the VIQC Full Volume Tournament has seen them ranked second nationwide and, at the time of publishing, 14th internationally – a fantastic effort.
The Knox Grammar team 'High-Q' and Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School team 'Chewbacon' programmed their robots in a Teamwork Challenge game as an alliance in 60-second teamwork matches.

The robots are placed on a 6' x 8' playing field filled with coloured blocks which must be configured to score points.
Each team in the competition also competed in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes to the playing field to score as many points as possible, with the task consisting of Driving Skills Matches (driver controlled) and Autonomous Coding (where robots are pre-programmed and human interaction is limited).
High-Q is comprised of Year 6 students Lucas Zhang and Andy Jiang and they are mentoring Year 5 students Bob Zheng and Lucas Ling. The Knox Prep Innovation Team coach and manage High-Q.
Team Leader of Innovation Mr Ian Fairhurst said: "The team's hard work, teamwork, and innovative approach to their design so far this season have been outstanding, showcasing their dedication to robotics and engineering."
"We wish to extend a huge thank you to Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School for hosting such a well-organised event. Our students felt warmly welcomed and supported throughout."
Knox Prep has eight VEX IQ teams and we look forward to sharing more results throughout the season.
