We are delighted to announce a new partnership with the NSW Institute of Sport, one of Australia's top performing swim coaches, Simon Cusack, the Northern Metro Hub squad and Pymble Ladies' College which will greatly benefit the schools, their students, coaches and some of Australia's top swimmers.
From early 2019, coach Simon Cusack and a squad of Australian swimmers will be based at Knox Grammar School and Pymble Ladies' College's state of the art Aquatic and Fitness Centres. A squad of top Australian swimmers including Olympians Cate and Bronte Campbell will train several times a week at the two schools.
Simon Cusack has coached some of Australia's elite swimmers to gold medal performances at the Commonwealth Games, Pan-Pacific Championships, World Championships and the Olympic Games.
As part of the partnership, Simon will be working with our swim coaches to enhance and improve the training, culture and achievements of the Knox swim team.
Knox Grammar School Headmaster, Scott James said, "We are thrilled to have someone of Simon's calibre training NSW's elite swimmers such as Olympic swimmers Cate and Bronte Campbell here at our Aquatic and Fitness Centre."
"This exciting partnership will enable Knox swimmers of the future to train with Australia's best and emerging talent in the field and our coaches to learn from one of Australia's internationally renowned swim coaches," he said.
The Headmaster said the partnership furthers the School's vision to support students who aspire to be elite athletes to realise their potential by providing them with access to the most talented leaders in their sporting field.
He continued, "We have recently launched 'Pathways for Elite Athletes at Knox' (PEAK) to assist high performance athletes to achieve excellence in sport, whilst achieving their best academically. The amazing opportunity for our students and coaches to learn alongside the Northern Metro Hub squad and their coach Simon Cusack is a significant aspect of this transformative approach."
