The Knox Grammar Aquatic Centre was buzzing on Tuesday as the Senior School took part in the inaugural Student vs Staff Swimming Relay, as part of a warm-up challenge ahead of the CAS Swimming and Diving Championships. The event quickly proved itself a popular addition to the school calendar, drawing plenty of support from the stands.

This lively event was a fun warm-up for the Black and Blue, in the lead-up to the CAS Swimming and Diving Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in March. The staff had a head start in the pool, giving the students a bit of a challenge.
We asked Dylan (Year 12) on the Knox CAS Swimming Team about his experience of the day.
“The Student vs Staff Swimming Relay was a fantastic success and a memorable occasion for both students and teachers,” said Dylan. “The crowd of Year 12 students and the Tartan Army provided a great atmosphere at the pool, cheering on both teams throughout the race. It was also a historic moment, as this was the first time an event of this kind has ever been held at the School. We hope that it will continue for years to come.
“The Teacher's Team, Dr Weeding, Mr Hogan, Mr Kelly and Mr Nunan performed brilliantly with blistering times that caught the student team completely off guard! Ultimately, in the end it was the Teacher's Team who took the victory in what was a stunning yet unexpected result.
"The CAS Swimming and Diving Championships are just around the corner. This relay event is just a glimmer of what's to come, let's make this year's CAS Swimming one to remember!”

“A centenary is far more than a marker of time. It is a testament to vision, courage, perseverance and the enduring power of community. Today we honour the past, celebrate the present, and look forward with both optimism and conviction to the future.” - Mrs Julie Wiseman, Head of Wahroonga Prep School.
