The 2025 Cricket Tour of the United Kingdom was an unforgettable experience. Our students travelled across the UK, with the 1st XI team playing in 11 competitive fixtures. We spoke with Year 10 student Sean about the tour; here are his reflections on the journey.

“Our UK tour was exciting, fun, and filled with memorable experiences,” said Sean. “Every day offered something new, whether it was playing competitive cricket, exploring historic sites, or enjoying time with mates. The trip was energetic and full of laughter, especially during bus rides and team activities. The atmosphere was always positive, with boys encouraging each other on and off the field. The friendships created and further tightened on this tour, will leave a lasting impact, creating memories and bonds we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives.
“There were many highlights throughout the trip. One of the standout moments came about at the Uptonsteel County Ground when Leicestershire took on Middlesex in a four-day county cricket game. We attended Day One of the match and brought plenty of enthusiasm to the ground, even warranting a mention by the commentators on the YouTube live stream of the game. To top it off, we received two signed shirts of our favourite players Rishi Patel and Sam Wood.
“Next, we travelled to Stonehenge and visited the Sea City Museum in Southampton. Then we had two nights in London, filled with activities including the exploring the London Tower and Tower Bridge, sitting in the London Eye, enjoying the Thames River Cruise and, a crowd favourite, taking a tour of the Lord's Cricket Ground where we were able to see both the home and away dressing rooms, the media box, and the Long Room.
“After matches at Stowe and Newington, we all sung loudly on the bus the new team song we created on the tour, creating lasting memories.
“Through the adventures we shared, the laughter, and the camaraderie throughout this tour, everyone knows how special this trip was to us. But none of this would have been possible without the support of our four coaches – Mr Stuart, Mr Bryan, Mr Preece and Mr Hall. On behalf of all the boys, I would like to thank you for your commitment, effort and support throughout the tour. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will cherish forever.”

“Hello everyone. For those who don’t know me, my name is William. I’m a Year 12 student here at Knox – and I’m also a proud Trawlwoolway man from the northeast of Tasmania. This year’s NAIDOC Week is special. Not just because it’s a celebration, but because this year marks 50 years of NAIDOC. That’s 50 years of truth-telling. 50 years of strength. 50 years of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s identity and resistance.”
