“And so, as we close this chapter, I am filled with gratitude for every person who has helped us along the way. Knox has been the soil, the sun, and the rain and we, like resilient thistles, are ready to take what we have learned and flourish wherever life may take us.” - Arjun, 2025 School Captain.

For our Class of 2025, Monday 22 September was a momentous day. The 102nd Annual Year 12 Valedictory Ceremony marked a very special milestone, with our Year 12 students’ families celebrating the completion of this chapter of their lives as they transition from Knox students to Old Boys.
On this bright spring day, Year 12 students walked as one, from the Weeks Senior Academy, where they spent much of their time over the past couple years, up the Boulevard, and processed into the Great Hall for the Valedictory Ceremony. Amongst the ceremonious speeches, the families of the Class of 2025 enjoyed the live musical performances from Knox students and staff. The Great Hall was filled with recognition, applause, and pride, as Year 12 students were presented with prizes across academia, sport, co-curricular, community, and distinction.
Headmaster Scott James said, "Looking out at the young men seated in front of me, I reflect on the journey that has brought us to this moment. And I am reminded of the guiding mantra that has shaped the Class of 2025: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’
“This is a year group that has shown what it truly means to go far together. The achievements we celebrate today are not simply the result individual talent, but a shared effort and mutual respect. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, on stage, or quiet moments of perseverance, these boys have lifted each other up.
“And as our School Song reminds us, 'after all the shout and clamour, when schoolboys are through, there will always be Knox Grammar School, the triumphant Black and Blue'. The graduating Class of 2025 – go well, go with courage, and remember that the Knox community is always behind you.”
“To my Year 12 brothers, thank you. Like a field of thistles, each of us unique, resilient, and standing tall, together. We have laughed, struggled, celebrated, and grown alongside one another, and it is this shared journey that has defined our time at Knox.
“You have been my teammates, my inspiration, my sounding boards, and my family. The memories we have forged; from the locker room banter to study sessions, from the victories on the field to the challenges we overcame together, will stay with me forever.
“I am proud to have stood shoulder to shoulder with each of you, and I know that the character, courage, and camaraderie we have built as a cohort will guide us long after we leave these gates.”
Congratulations, Class of 2025!
