The 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship, held from 6-14 May in Dallas, Texas brought together the world’s top student robotics teams for an intense week of competition, innovation, and collaboration.

Our school community is proud to celebrate the remarkable performances of Team 2076A Apollo 18 and Team 2076D Helikopter Doges, who represented Knox with distinction on this global stage.
Season Best and Division Finals
Apollo 18 began their campaign with a season-best score of 382 points in their opening match, setting the tone for an exceptional tournament run. Their consistent performance throughout the event saw them qualify for the division finals. Alongside their alliance partners, they finished ranked sixth in the highly competitive Research Division – an extraordinary accomplishment given the calibre of teams present from around the world. Notably, the alliance that ultimately won the Research Division went on to capture the Middle School Tournament title, setting a new World Championship record with a high score of 524 points!
World Championship Skills Event
In the World Championship Skills event, Apollo 18 ranked 11th among 419 middle school teams, placing them firmly among the world’s elite in robotics skills and strategy.
The Think Award
Capping off their achievements, Apollo 18 was honoured with the prestigious Think Award. This award recognises the team with the most effective and consistent use of coding techniques and programming design solutions to tackle the season’s game challenge. Earning this award highlights the team’s technical excellence and innovative approach to robotics programming.
Division Performance and Resilience
Competing in the Innovate Division against 80 of the world’s best teams, Helikopter Doges achieved a season-best score of 342 points. By the end of day two, they had climbed to an impressive 18th place in their division rankings. Despite facing mechanical challenges and tough alliance matchups on the final day, the team demonstrated remarkable teamwork and resilience, quickly repairing issues and adapting their strategy.
Final Division Ranking
Helikopter Doges finished 30th out of 80 teams in their division-an outstanding result at the world’s largest and most prestigious robotics competition.
A Community of Innovation and Teamwork
Both teams exemplified the core values of VEX Robotics: creativity, perseverance, and collaboration. Their achievements in Dallas reflect months of hard work, long nights, and a passion for STEM that inspires our entire school community.
None of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering support of our parents, families, and broader school community. Your encouragement, dedication, and commitment have been instrumental in making this tour such a meaningful and positive growth experience for all involved. Thank you for helping our students reach new heights and for fostering a spirit of innovation and teamwork that will benefit them for years to come.
