John Stewart D’Arrietta (OKG33)

Knox's #20 Student 1924

John was the 20th enrolled student at Knox. He attended the School from 1924 to 1931.

He was awarded Form III 10th Place Prize in 1928. John represented North House in House competitions. In 1929 he played for the 2nd XI and was selected for the 1st XV from 1929-1931.

After school, John became a commercial traveller (or as we know it in 2024, a travelling salesman) and later managed his own business. In 1942, John enlisted in the Australian Army as a Lance bombardier in 20 field Regiment then transferred to the Royal Australian Air Force as a Leading Aircraftman in 7 Aircraft Depot Tocum. He married Hope ‘Annie’ Hickey with whom he had two sons and a daughter.
