John ‘Keith’ Ogilvie (OKG28)

Knox's #24 Student 1924

Keith was the 24th enrolled student at Knox. He attended the School as a day student of South House and a boarder of School House from 1924 to 1928.

He was awarded the 3rd Place in Form III in his first year at Knox. Keith was in the 1st XI Cricket team for four years and received Colours in 1928. He participated in Track and Field and was in the School’s first 1st XV Rugby team.

After school, Keith studied accountancy and worked for Permanent Trustee Company in Sydney. He enlisted in the Australian Army in 1941 and rose to the rank of Lance Sergeant. He married Alma Morgan and they had two daughters.

Keith had many relatives attend the school, including his brothers Alan (OKG30) and Bruce (OKG33), grandsons John Mildren (OKG84), Todd Mildren (OKG86) and Ben Mildren (OKG86), and great grandsons Toby Mildren (OKG07) and Joshua Mildren (OKG10). John’s father, Rev A M Ogilvie was on the School Council from 1923 to 1938.
