Clive Frederick Woodend Baylis MC (OKG30)

Knox's #35 Student 1924

Clive was the 35th enrolled student at Knox. He attended the School as a boarder from 1924 to 1925.

He participated in House events representing School House and played in the School’s first 1st XV Rugby team. Clive left Knox and continued his schooling at Sydney Church of England Grammar School.

After school, Clive became a bank clerk. At the outbreak of World War II, he enlisted in the Australian Army rising to the rank of Major in the 2/2 Australian Infantry Battalion. In 1943, he was awarded a Military Cross for conspicuous courage and tenacity at Templetons Crossing. He was discharged in 1945 and on returning ran a newsagent in Gundagai with his wife, Doris.
