Kenelm ‘Kel’ Wentworth Digby (OKG29)

Knox's #36 Student 1924

Kenelm, or Kel as he was known, was the 36th enrolled student at Knox. He attended as both a day student and boarder from 1924 to 1925. He played Cricket for South House. Kel continued his education at Leeton Public School.

Kel remembered planting the grass on what is now Knox 1 and watering with a stirrup pump, as there was no tap.

After school, Kel worked as a clerk in the Water Irrigation and Conservation Commission, a position he held for 42 years. Kel also served in the Australian Army from 1942 to 1946 rising to Lance Corporal in the 1st Australian Armoured Regiment. He married Merle Richards and had one daughter.
