Winston David Love (OKG32)

Knox’s #4 Student 1924

Winston (pictured middle row, third from right) was the fourth enrolled student of the School, attending from 1924 to 1932. He was a member of South House and participated in Debating.

He was on the 1st XV from 1930 to 1932 and Vice Captain in his final year. He was also selected to the Associated Team in 1931 and 1932. Winston was awarded the Captain Robert William Aspinall MC Memorial Prize in 1930 and achieved Rugby Colours. He was a School Senior in 1930 and Probationer for his final two years.

After school, Winston completed a Bachelor of Economics at the University of Sydney and then went to work at Joyce Biscuit Ltd. He enlisted in the Royal Australian Air Force in 1940 and was stationed in England. In 1942, he was a casualty of war in Germany. He is remembered on the OKGA War Memorial.

His brother Alan (OKG40) and his cousins also attended the School.
