Ralph was the 44th student enrolled at Knox and the last student enrolled in 1924. He attended the School from 1925 to 1928 as a member of South House. He was awarded Seventh Place in his Form in 1927.
After school, he joined the Australian Air Force before resigning to be a Chief Engineer with De Havilland.
He married Mary Croker and had two children. Later he purchased a service station and established an air conditioning business, R K Newson Pty Ltd, for which he was Managing Director.
Ralph had a close relationship with Lodge Knox and acted as Director of Music on many occasions.
