It was a nod to the very first game of rugby played by a Knox team back in 1924, also against Cranbrook.
In an interesting turn of fate, the final score at that game was 31-0 and Knox's team of 18 boys aged nine to 13 years proved victorious.
Some of the relatives of those first boys were in attendance at the centenary match.
