Internship Program

Transform your teaching journey with an internship program at Knox Grammar School
Tailored for final year students pursuing a Bachelor of Education or Master of Education degree, our program stands as a beacon for those eager to make a seamless transition from student to educator.
Why join our internship program?
At Knox, we recognise the pivotal moment when aspiring educators make the leap from the classroom to full-time teaching. Our internship program not only offers a unique bridge to this transition but goes above and beyond, setting itself apart in several key ways.
Unlike other part-time work you might undertake while studying, the internship comes with a distinctive advantage - you'll be paid as you learn and hone the skills essential for a successful teaching career. We understand the financial challenges faced by students in their final year, and we're committed to supporting your professional growth.
Many of our interns find a natural home at Knox, with a significant number seamlessly transitioning to full-time employment upon completing the program. This isn't just an internship; it's a launchpad for a fulfilling and lasting career in education.
We believe in more than just providing classroom experience. Throughout your internship, you'll benefit from substantial mentorship and career guidance from experienced teachers dedicated to your success. Our aim is to nurture your potential, providing insights and support that extend beyond the program duration.
Join us at Knox, where every day is a chance to learn, grow, and make a lasting impact in the lives of students. Your journey towards becoming a full-time teacher starts here!
Tailored to your unique circumstances
We understand that each student has distinct circumstances, and our internship program is designed to accommodate these individual needs. Whether you have academic commitments, work obligations, or personal responsibilities, we tailor the internship to fit seamlessly into your schedule.
Choose your day, shape your experience
Unlike rigid programs, we empower you to choose the day that aligns with your study and work commitments. Your internship can occur one day per week throughout the academic year, and you have the flexibility to determine the schedule that suits you best.
We believe that learning thrives when it aligns with your unique circumstances.
Your experience, your professional development
We recognise that every intern is on a unique professional development journey. Our commitment is to ensure that your experiences during the internship contribute meaningfully to your growth. Whether you prefer a structured day-by-day approach or a consolidated block of time, we work with you to tailor an experience that aligns with your aspirations.
Individualised guidance from the Director of Teaching and Learning
Our Director of Teaching and Learning is dedicated to working with each intern individually. Together, you will identify the courses, year levels, and mentors that best suit your needs and career goals. Whether it's mentoring young minds, co-leading a camping expedition, managing a co-curricular activity, or working in the boarding environment, we collaborate to create an experience that enhances your chances of securing your preferred job in the following academic year.
At Knox Grammar School, flexibility is not just a feature; it's the foundation of your journey towards becoming an exceptional educator. Join us, and let's shape your path to success together.
This isn't just an internship; it's a launchpad for a fulfilling and lasting career in education.
