What's your role at Knox?

I'm the Chief Operating Officer. My job involves working in the support and operational areas of the School such as finance and property.

How long have you been with the School?

I commenced in 2023.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day involves many meetings!

What three things do you love most about working at Knox?

Working with colleagues who are dedicated to making Knox an excellent school. Using my skills to advance an organisation whose purpose I agree with; growing and educating the next generation. Lastly, my days are never the same, I am always learning.

What or who inspired you to pursue a career in education?

I was working in audit and was assigned to the audit of a girls’ school; at that stage of my life I didn’t know there was a business side to schools. I thought it would be brilliant to work in a sector that was working for good, where I could apply my finance background.

What part of your role do you gain the most joy from?

I gain the most joy working with great people.

Why did you join Knox?

The opportunity to be the COO at the leading boys’ school in Australia is amazing, and I was delighted to be appointed to the role. I expected Knox to always aspire to excellence, and it does.

What achievement are you most proud of from your time at Knox so far?

It’s early days for me so hard to answer this one right now. I am proud of the relationships I have built over the last year.

What’s your leadership style and why have you found this to be successful?

I try to be consultative and approachable. We all have great ideas and I want to hear about them from staff.

Who are you outside of Knox?

My Christian faith is the foundation to my life. I love getting to the bush or the beach, even better if it is with my Kelpie.

Share one fun fact that people might not know about you.

I like playing Fortnite.

What advice would you give to anyone joining Knox?

Take up the opportunities to get involved in all areas of the School, there is a dedicated and welcoming community to get to know and enjoy.
