Christopher (Chris) Basten

Chris Basten was appointed to the Council in 2024.
Chris is the Principal and Founder of Basten and Associates, a clinical psychology practice, which he established over 25 years ago. Chris is also an Associate Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Previously, Dr Basten worked as a Clinical Psychologist with Westmead Hospital working with the Eating Disorders Treatment Program. He serves on the Board of the Acquired Brain Injury Services, a nonprofit service for people with brain injuries, and serves on the curriculum advisory board at UTS.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of NSW, a Master of Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney, is a founding member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association and a member of the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
