Simon Rothery was appointed to the Council in 2010 and was appointed to the position of Chair in 2019.
Simon is Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs Australia. He has overall responsibility for the firm’s businesses across Australia and New Zealand and is a member of the Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific Management Committee.
In addition to serving on the Council, Simon serves on the Boards of the European Australian Business Council, the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and is the Chair for the Pymble Ladies’ College Pymble Foundation Board.
Simon is a parent of a son who graduated from the School in 2021.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Economics.
