I AM CONSIDERING SENDING MY CHILD TO KNOX, HOW DO I VISIT THE SCHOOL?

We run regular tours of our Knox Prep, Wahroonga Prep and Knox Senior School campus which can be booked online. The tours are very popular and places are limited. We also encourage you to attend public events such as Knox Gala Day (Term 2), Anzac Day (Term 2), the Knox musical and sporting fixtures.

WHEN SHOULD I ENROL MY CHILD?

We are experiencing very high demand for our limited places. We recommend you secure your position at the School by completing your Enrolment Form and paying your Application Fee as soon as possible after your child’s birth.

Payment of the Application Fee and Enrolment Fee is the only way to secure a confirmed position for your child.

WHAT ARE THE KEY STEPS TO ENROL MY CHILD AT KNOX?

  1. Return your completed Enrolment Form and other requested documents (as per the checklist on the Enrolment Form) to the Enrolment Office and pay your Application Fee.

  2. If your application is successful, you will receive confirmation in writing and be asked to pay an Enrolment Fee to secure your child’s place at Knox.

  3. Two years from your child’s commencement at Knox, you will be asked to pay an Entrance Fee for your child, to finalise enrolment.

  4. In the months before your child’s commencement at Knox, they will be invited to attend an Orientation Day (Kindergarten, Year 3, Year 5 and Year 7 only).

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE FAMILY REFERENCES WITH MY APPLICATION FOR ENROLMENT?

Yes, it is a requirement of the School Council that every Application for Enrolment be supported by two written family references.

DO YOU OFFER SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTEND KNOX?

Yes, we offer a range of scholarships each year. Applications normally open in November and close in February for positions commencing the following year. Examinations are normally held around March in Sydney and in regional NSW (currently Dubbo).

We offer a range of scholarships through the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation (AIEF).

WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL'S EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS?

When a student joins Knox, they become part of the Knox community and its mission. The students who embrace school life at Knox are the ones who get the most out of their time at the School.

Students are expected to attend all lessons, sports practice and matches and to support the values of the school. Students must comply with the policies and procedures found in the student diary.

WHAT ARE THE SCHOOL'S EXPECTATIONS OF PARENTS?

Parents are expected to support the ethos and to abide by the policies and rules of the School, including our requirements for discipline, home study, attendance and leave. More information about parent expectations is included in the Application for Enrolment.

HOW SHOULD MY CHILD GET TO AND FROM KNOX?

Both of our campuses are located a short walk from a train station (Prep: Wahroonga Station, Senior: Warrawee Station).

We also offer daily charter bus services between the Prep and Senior School and:

How to take the bus to Knox

WHAT UNIFORM DOES MY CHILD REQUIRE?

Each Knox boy requires a summer and winter uniform and other uniforms such as clothing for sport and Cadets. The Knox Uniform Shop (+61 2 9487 0191), located in Borambil Street, can provide more information about uniform requirements. It is each boy’s responsibility to be correctly and neatly dressed at all times and wear the Knox uniform with pride. More detailed information is provided to all boys in the Student Diary.

WHAT ARE THE NORMAL SCHOOL HOURS?

Roll call for the Knox Prep takes place at 8.20am. K-2 finish at 2.40pm and Years 3 to 6 finish at 3.05pm. The Knox Prep has a before and after school care service available.

Senior School lessons commence at 8.25am and run through until 3.15pm.

Knox students are very busy! Boys often have commitments and activities before and after school including music rehearsals, sports training, Cadets and clubs.

Students from Years 3 to 12 have regular Saturday sports commitments throughout term time.

WHEN ARE THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?

School holidays are published on the Term Dates page. Leave outside these times is granted in very rare circumstances and must be approved by their head of campus.

DOES MY CHILD REQUIRE HIS OWN COMPUTER OR TABLET?

Knox supplies each Prep student with either an iPad (K-4) or Macbook Air laptop (Y5-6). These are stored on-site in each student's classroom.

In the Senior School, each boy receives a school issued laptop (Macbook Air), which they are free to take home each evening.

An annual technology levy is charged each year to help fund the entire technology landscape at Knox including laptops, networks, software, storage and the internet. Our on-site IT Helpdesk provides technical support to students.
